Buying Olympique Lyonnais tickets: what to know

The matches that sell out first

Derbies, title deciders and European knockout nights go fastest and cost the most. For those, booking weeks ahead gives you far more choice of seats.

Away matches

Tickets for away matches are usually in home-fan sections. Leave club colours at the hotel and do not celebrate openly — stewards can remove you.

Buying for a group or family

Every listing tells you whether its seats can be sat together, so keep an eye on that detail before you buy. Prices are per ticket, and children need their own ticket.

About Olympique Lyonnais

History

Founded in 1950, Olympique Lyonnais — OL, or simply Lyon — are one of France's great modern powerhouses. The club dominated the 2000s with a French-record seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles between 2002 and 2008, and have also won five Coupe de France trophies and eight Trophées des Champions. In Europe, Lyon twice reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals (2010 and 2020). The club's women's team, meanwhile, ranks among the most successful in the history of the game.

Groupama Stadium

Lyon play their home matches at the Groupama Stadium (the Parc Olympique Lyonnais), a state-of-the-art arena in Décines-Charpieu on the eastern edge of the city, with a capacity of 59,186. Opened in 2016, it is one of the finest and most modern grounds in France and hosted matches at Euro 2016. The stadium is served directly by the tram (line T3) from central Lyon.

The 2026/27 Squad

Under head coach Paulo Fonseca, Lyon head into the 2026/27 season with a spirited squad blending experience and youth, led by club captain and France international Corentin Tolisso in midfield. The backline features World Cup winner Nicolás Tagliafico alongside Moussa Niakhaté and Clinton Mata, with Dominik Greif in goal. Going forward, the electric Belgian winger Malick Fofana and Czech attacking midfielder Pavel Šulc — the team's top scorer last season — provide the cutting edge.

2026/27 Expectations

After a strong 2025/26 campaign that brought a top-three finish and European football — achieved despite well-documented off-field turbulence — Lyon aim to re-establish themselves among the leading contenders in France. Fonseca's priorities are a return to the Champions League places, a run in the Coupe de France, and consistent European nights at the Groupama Stadium.

Key Matches

The fixture that stirs the most passion is the derby against Saint-Étienne — one of the oldest and most intense rivalries in French football. Also unmissable is l'Olympico against Olympique de Marseille, along with the marquee clashes with champions Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco, and the European nights when continental football returns to Lyon. These marquee games sell out the fastest, so early planning is essential.
