History
Formed in 1944 through the merger of Olympique Lillois and SC Fives, Lille OSC — nicknamed Les Dogues (the Mastiffs) — are one of the proudest clubs in northern France. LOSC have won four French league titles (1946, 1954, 2011 and a famous 2021 triumph, crowned champions ahead of a star-studded Paris Saint-Germain) as well as six Coupe de France trophies. On the European stage, the club reached the UEFA Champions League round of 16 in 2021–22, underlining their reputation as regular continental competitors.

Lille play their home matches at the impressive Stade Pierre-Mauroy (officially the Decathlon Arena), located in Villeneuve-d'Ascq within the Lille metropolis, with a capacity of 50,186.
