History
Founded in 1950, Olympique Lyonnais — OL, or simply Lyon — are one of France's great modern powerhouses. The club dominated the 2000s with a French-record seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles between 2002 and 2008, and have also won five Coupe de France trophies and eight Trophées des Champions. Lyon play their home matches at the Groupama Stadium (the Parc Olympique Lyonnais), a state-of-the-art arena in Décines-Charpieu on the eastern edge of the city, with a capacity of 59,186.
