Barcelona Football Trip Guide: Camp Nou Night vs Aston Villa

FC Barcelona host Aston Villa at the Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday 3 November 2026, kick-off 21:00 CET, in matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League league phase. Villa arrive as Europa League holders and unbeaten in Europe, and Barça's rebuilt home is now open to more than 62,000 fans.

Why is Barcelona vs Aston Villa a big Champions League night?

Because Villa arrive unbeaten and Barça need a reaction. Unai Emery's side have won all three league-phase games, scoring 12 and conceding three, including a 6-0 win over Fenerbahçe.

Hansi Flick's Barcelona beat Feyenoord 5-1 and Galatasaray 4-1, then lost 4-2 at PSG on 20 October. A home win would put them straight back among the leaders. Villa, meanwhile, travel as the side that lifted the Europa League in Istanbul in May, beating Freiburg 3-0. This is the first competitive meeting between the two clubs, so there is no history to lean on, only form.

What is the new Spotify Camp Nou like?

It is a stadium still being finished, and that is part of the appeal. Barça returned in November 2025 after more than two years at Montjuïc, and since March 2026 the ground has held 62,652 spectators.

The third tier is not open yet. Recent reports put that between February and April 2027, with the roof to follow, and a final capacity of around 105,000. For now, expect cranes above one side of the bowl and a noisy, steep lower and middle tier. The Grada d'Animació, Barça's organised singing section, returned in spring 2026, and a European night under the lights is when it is at its loudest.

How do you get to Camp Nou on matchday?

Take the metro. The stadium sits in Les Corts, west of the centre, and the closest stations are Collblanc and Badal on line L5, about five minutes on foot. Palau Reial and Les Corts on L3 are around ten minutes away.

Flying in on the day? Metro L9 Sud runs from both airport terminals to Collblanc, the stop nearest the stadium, with no change. Note that standard metro tickets are not valid at the airport stations; you need an airport ticket or a Hola Barcelona travel card. The Aerobús runs to Plaça de Catalunya in about 35 minutes if you are heading to your hotel first.

Aim to be in Les Corts at least 90 minutes before kick-off. Security queues build quickly for a 21:00 Champions League start.

What else should you see in Barcelona?

Turn the match into a long weekend. These are the stops most travelling fans fit around a Tuesday night game:

  • Sagrada Família: Gaudí's basilica reached its full height of 172.5 metres in February 2026, and its central Tower of Jesus Christ was inaugurated on 10 June, the centenary of the architect's death. Book a timed slot well ahead.

  • Gothic Quarter and El Born: narrow medieval streets, the cathedral and small tapas bars. Best explored on foot on matchday morning.

  • Montjuïc: the hill above the port, home to the Olympic stadium where Barça played during the rebuild. Good views over the city at sunset.

  • Barça Museum: the club's museum and immersive experience at the stadium stay open during the works. On Champions League match days it closes early in the afternoon, so go in the morning or on the Wednesday.

Base yourself near Plaça de Catalunya or the Eixample. Both are a direct metro ride from Les Corts, and the late finish means you will want a short trip home.

Where to sit at the Spotify Camp Nou

Sit in the lower or middle tier along the sidelines for the clearest view while the top tier is closed. Seats behind the goals put you closer to the Grada d'Animació and the atmosphere, but the view of the far end is flatter.

If you are travelling as a group, buy together so your seats sit side by side. Away supporters are allocated a separate section, so Villa fans who want to sit with the home crowd should keep colours out of sight.

You can browse every Barça home and away fixture on our FC Barcelona tickets page, and Villa's full European run on our Aston Villa tickets page.
